TV Wrap: The Block finale draws in 1.6m metro viewers as Nine wins the week
Nine’s finale episode of The Block, which saw Mitch and Mark named the winners of the show for 2021, was the #1 entertainment program on Sunday night, as the network also celebrated an overall network share win.
The Block brought in a metro audience of 1.555 million metro viewers, while also winning all key advertising demos, and surpassing Seven News and Nine News in metro viewers.

The last ten minutes of the episode where the winners were announced saw 1.835 million metro viewers tune in. The renovation show also won entertainment last Sunday.
Last year’s finale of The Block aired to 1.79 million metro viewers, while 2019’s finale of The Block saw 1.924 million metro viewers tune in.
Ten’s Celebrity MasterChef was next in entertainment, pulling in a metro audience of 395,000, followed by an episode of Seven’s Border Security which had 274,000 metro viewers.
The #1 program on Sunday was also The Block, followed by Nine News which aired to 999,000 metro viewers, while Seven News had 904,000 metro viewers.
As mentioned, Nine dominated the night, taking an overall network share of 46.6% over Seven’s 20.8%, while Ten had 14.1% and ABC took a 13.6% share.
Nine won the primary channel share while the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 7MATE with a share of 2.8%.
Nine also took the week ending 6 November with a network share of 31.4% over Seven’s 26%, while Ten had 17.7% and ABC took 16.9%.
Nine also managed to win the primary channel share for the week, with a 21.7% share ahead of Seven’s 17.2%.
In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 31 October, The Block was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.867 million viewers, including 233,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 23%.
The program with the biggest uplift however was an episode of Ten’s CSI: Vegas with an uplift of 27% and had a total of 352,000 viewers overall.
