Seven’s Supercars Championship: Bathurst 1000 race was the #1 entertainment program on Sunday night, helping the network take the overall nightly network share win.
The race brought in a metro audience of 774,000, while the last 15 minutes when the winner was announced won all three key advertising demos. The last 15 minutes of the episode saw 1.06 million metro viewers tune in. Last year the race brought in a metro audience of 747,000.
Meanwhile, Nine beat Seven in the week ending 8 October with a network share of 31.1% over Seven’s 25.7%, while the ABC finished the week at 16.7% share, followed by Ten on 15.7%.
Nine also won the primary channel share for the week, with a 15.3% share ahead of Seven’s 17.9%, and the top multi-channel for the week was 7TWO on 3.4%.
Looking back at Sunday overnights, next, and #1 in non-sport entertainment was The Block on Nine which pulled in 904,000 metro viewers, followed by the launch of Australia’s Got Talent on Seven, which aired to an average metro audience of 645,000. The last 15 minutes of the Amazing Race Australia finale announcing the winner aired to an average of 438,000.
Meanwhile, Seven News won overall TV viewing on Sunday night with 1.085 million metro viewers, followed by Nine News with 736,000 metro viewers.60 Minutes brought in 567,000 metro views, and ABC News brought in 536,000.
As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 31.3% over Seven’s 30.8%, while Ten had a share of 15%, and the ABC took a 14.8% share.
Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 7Mate with a share of 2.9%.
