The Block stays out on top and helps Nine win the night


The Block on Nine topped entertainment on Tuesday and has been number one since its launch on Sunday night. The network also celebrated an overall network share win.

It was also the number one program on BVOD, airing to 154,000 national viewers last night.

The program aired to 775,000 metro viewers, also winning all three key advertising demos. On Sunday night the season’s launch drew in 867,000 metro viewers.

In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 2 August, Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.471 million viewers, including 39,000 on BVOD, and an uplift of 3%. The biggest uplift of the week was Ten’s Hunted finale with an uplift of 34% and aired to a total audience of 1.120 million total viewers, and an episode of Who Do You Think You Are? On SBS with a total audience of 449,000.

Looking back at Tuesday’s ratings, next in entertainment was Seven’s Home and Away which aired to an average metro audience of 536,000, followed by The Chase Australia on Seven which was watched by 529,000 metro viewers.

Have You Been Paying Attention? on Ten launched to 569,000 metro viewers, followed by Back Roads on ABC, which brought in 485,000 metro viewers.

The Masked Singer reveal on Ten brought in a metro audience of 504,000 viewers, while My Kitchen Rules on Seven aired to 450,000 metro viewers.

The full episode of The Masked Singer was watched by 449,000 metro viewers.

Meanwhile, Seven News was the #1 metro program on Tuesday with 938,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News at 6:30 with 348,000 metro viewers, while Nine News at 6:30 brought in 880,000 metro viewers. Nine News pulled in 863,000 viewers.

ABC News brought in 575,000, and ABC’s 7:30 pulled in 437,000 viewers.

As mentioned, Nine won the night, taking an overall network share of 33.6% over Seven’s 26%, while Ten took a 17.6% share and the ABC had 14.5%.

Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Tuesday was 7Mate with a share of 3.5%.
