The second game of the State of Origin has topped entertainment and overall programming for Sunday night, while topping all three advertising demos.
The game itself brought in a huge 1.797 million metro viewers for Nine, while the pre-match entertainment had 1.026 million viewers, awarding the network a triumphant win of overall share, with 46.1%.
The Blues have done it, and done it well.

The Nine Network took the week ending 26 June with a network share of 41.4% over Seven Network’s 19.2%, while Network Ten finished the week on 15.5% and the ABC with a 12.3% share.
Nine also managed to win the primary channel share for the week, with a 35% share ahead of Seven’s 14.2%, and the top multi-channel for the week was ABC Kids ABC TV Plus with 3%.
In the latest Daily Consolidated Total TV Report for 19 June, Sunday’s Seven News was the #1 program nationally across linear, with 1.456 million viewers, including 31,000 on BVOD and an uplift of 2%. The biggest uplift of the week was an episode of children’s show Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom on ABC, with an uplift of 46%.
Looking at Sunday’s ratings, next in entertainment was the State of Origin post-match presentation, with 595,000 metro viewers, followed by Ten’s MasterChef Australia, which brought in 518,000 metro viewers, then Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery on ABC, with 401,000 metro viewers.
Seven’s Sunday AFL brought in 311, metro viewers while the network’s Code 1: Minute by Minute had 264,000 metro viewers.
Overall, Nine News was the #1 metro program on Sunday with 870,000 metro viewers followed by Seven News on Sunday with 847,000 metro viewers. ABC News brought in 551,000. 7News Spotlight had 392,000 metro viewers. The Sunday Project on Ten aired to a metro audience of 372,000, while 10 News First brought in 235,000.
As mentioned, Nine won the evening, taking an overall network share of 46.1% over Seven’s 19.3%, while Ten took a 15.7% share and the ABC had 12.3%.
Nine also won the primary channel share, and the top-rating multi-channel on Sunday was 9GO! with a share of 2.5%.
