NSW government announces ‘massive investment’ to address domestic violence

Sky Information Darwin Bureau Main Matt Cunningham says the NSW federal government warrants a “big tick” for asserting a “massive investment” in emergency lodging for ladies and children fleeing domestic violence.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting the NSW authorities is investing $480 million to build 75 women’s refuges as aspect of its COVID-19 financial restoration offer.

“Often the woman and the little one who flee domestic violence are the types who stop up homeless even though the perpetrator of the domestic violence finishes up with the home,” he claimed.

“I assume it is the type of accommodation that really is important simply because if not owning a put to stay, a dwelling to live in, is a barrier for a woman or little ones who need to have to escape an abusive romantic relationship, perfectly that is not fantastic enough and should not transpire.

“So I imagine huge tick to the NSW authorities for this a person.”
