Large Crowd of Protesters Gather After Italian Senate Blocks Hate Crime Bill



Protesters took to the streets of Milan, Italy, on Oct 28, immediately after the country’s senate voted down proposed legislation to ban discrimination on the grounds of “sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender id and incapacity.” This footage, filmed by Luca Caputa, displays men and women chanting at the Arco della Rate in Milan. The monthly bill, identified as the “Zan Monthly bill,” was first proposed by Italian politician Alessandro Zan in 2018.
