A Melbourne couple have chosen an aged-care facility as their wedding venue, with the pair not wanting the bride’s 92-year-old mum to miss out on the big day.
After 15 years together, Brigette Taylor and Paul Williams tied the knot at a Brighton aged care home in front of Ms Taylor’s mother, Daphne.
There were concerns Daphne wouldn’t be able to be moved to attend the wedding elsewhere, so Mr Williams had the idea to bring the wedding to her.

“It’s been a rough year,” he said.
“So finish it on a high.”
Ms Taylor said it was a good thing to do for her mum.
“Because she’s the best,” she said.
“Mum hasn’t seen much of us so there’s always the sadness that they feel that they’re not loved.”
Arcare staff transformed the centre’s craft room into the perfect space, complete with an arch, champagne and rose petals and even the couple’s dog, Zulu.
Mr Williams said the setting was “above and beyond” the couple’s expectations.
